Big "O" Tires 150
Jul 14, 2007 The inaugural NASCAR Grand National Division West Series visit to Miller Motorsports Park, in Tooele, Utah, exceeded expectations in many ways, but was a disappointment for Lofton Racing. The facility was first-class, as was the staff, but a blown engine led to the first DNF of the season. The #66 Lofton Cattle/Cometic Gasket/Klotz/Eibach Ford Fusion was fast throughout the day and remained in the top-5 during practice sessions, placing Justin Lofton in the final qualifying group. The Ford Fusion qualified 5th on the grid for the start of the race. The Big O Tires “150” kicked off the evening of July 14 amid a spectacular fireworks display, and Lofton quickly began to move his way forward. Unfortunately, the run was cut short when the #66 Lofton Cattle/Cometic Gasket/Klotz/Eibach Ford Fusion lost an engine. Lofton lost ground in the point’s race, but the team remains optimistic for the remainder of the season. "Miller Motorsports Park is an awesome facility," said Lofton. "We ran well throughout practice, qualified in the top-5 and expected a great run. We never had a chance to show how good the car really was after losing the motor so early,” concluded Lofton. Lofton Racing would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors—Cometic Gasket, Klotz Lubricants, and Eibach Springs-- for their continued support this season. The NASCAR Grand National Division West Series will head to Washington on Saturday, August 4, for the NAPA “300,” presented by BASALITE, at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe. Lofton hopes to improve on his top-10 finish of last season at the .646 mile paved oval. |
